sweater becomes hat

In the words of my 3-year-old son, “ta da!” – the sweater yarn has become a hat for my husband, just in time for the first threat of snow in Portland (fingers crossed for MANY inches on the ground for Monday morning!).

Although I forgot to take a pre-deconstruction pic, here are a few of the work-in-progress and the finished product.

I used the pattern “Kim’s Hats” from the book Last-Minute Knitted Gifts by: Joelle Hoverson (I LOVE THIS BOOK!) – I did a few changes to fit it just right to Josh’s head and to make the brim larger. Great pattern though!

Coming up for tomorrow – recycled items for your holiday wrapping! YAY!
